Breast Implant Revision for Warr Acres Patients
Warr Acres is about five miles from our Oklahoma City practice — a short drive to a surgeon who does revision work routinely. Here is what the process looks like, start to finish.

Why revision is its own category of surgery
Revision surgery replaces, corrects, or removes breast implants. The reasons vary: a size change, a firm scar shell called capsular contracture, a leak, implant position problems, or simply the decision that you are done with implants. Each of these starting points leads to a different operative plan.
Revision is harder than the first operation. Scar tissue, thinner tissue, and an existing pocket all constrain what the surgeon can do. It deserves a surgeon who does this work routinely — and an honest conversation about what is achievable. The range of plans is wide: exchange, capsule release or removal, pocket repair, lift with exchange, or removal without replacement.
That range is exactly why the exam and your written quote come first. No two revision cases start from the same anatomy. The plan is built around what your tissue allows today, not what was done years ago.
The drive from Warr Acres
Our practice is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Warr Acres is about five miles away in a straight line — a short drive. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up.
Consultations are available in person at the Oklahoma City office or virtual from anywhere. Virtual consultations let you have a thorough initial conversation without leaving home. When surgery is scheduled, a single in-person pre-operative visit confirms the plan. You can ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you.
What happens in the operating room
You receive anesthesia — medicine that makes you sleep. The surgeon usually re-opens the original scar, most often in the fold under the breast. The old implant comes out. Scar-shell tissue — the capsule — is released or removed as your plan requires. The pocket is repaired or reshaped when implants have shifted.
A new implant is placed, or the pocket is closed if you are done with implants, sometimes with a lift. The incisions are closed in layers with dissolving stitches. You go home the same day in most plans. Surgery happens in our AAAHC-accredited surgery center, which includes a private overnight guest suite if your plan calls for it.
Recovery, honestly
The first few days are usually easier than your first surgery — soreness, tightness, back-sleeping. By one week most desk workers return, with no lifting over ten pounds. By two weeks soreness fades and light lower-body exercise is usually fine. Full exercise, including chest work, typically resumes around six weeks.
The final shape declares itself over months as swelling clears and tissue relaxes. New implants settle gradually. Patience matters here — revision tissue has been operated on before, and healing differs each time.
In any emergency — chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden confusion, a swollen or painful calf, or bleeding that does not slow with gentle pressure — call 911 first. For other concerns day or night, call 405-751-0042.
The risks, in plain words
Every surgery has risks. The problems that brought you in can come back — capsular contracture recurs in some patients. Nipple sensation may decrease, increase, or go away. Thinner tissue after prior surgery shows rippling more easily. An implant can leak or break over time. Uneven results are possible; the two breasts are never a perfect match, and revision starts from an uneven baseline.
Bleeding can sometimes require another trip to the operating room. Infection signs include spreading redness, warmth, pus, or fever. Blood clots in the legs can travel to the lungs — that is an emergency. There is also the possibility of needing yet another surgery. Revision patients know this risk best. We go over every risk with you in person before any decision is made.
Start with a consultation
If you are considering breast implant revision, we welcome you to schedule a consultation — in person at our Oklahoma City office or virtual from home in Warr Acres. You will meet the surgeon, be examined, describe what bothers you in your own words, and leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number. Both are yours to keep, to decide on your own time. There is no pressure in the room and none after you leave it. Call 405-751-0042 or book online.
Individual results vary. This article is general education, not medical advice.
