Breast Lift With Implants: What the Search Really Means

"Breast lift with implants near me" is one of the most common searches we see. It tells us something important: you want both position and fullness. Here is how we think about that combination.

By the surgical team of Oklahoma Surgical Arts ·

Why the search pairs two operations

A breast lift — the medical name is mastopexy — raises and reshapes breasts that have settled with time, pregnancy, or weight change. The surgeon removes extra skin, reshapes the tissue, and moves the nipple to a higher, natural position. A lift restores position. It does not add volume.

An implant adds volume. It does not raise a breast that has dropped. When a patient wants both — a higher breast and more fullness — the two procedures are combined in a single operation. At our practice, mastopexy-augmentation is the most common combined breast plan.

Whether you need a lift, an implant, or both is an exam question. It is answered at consultation, not from a menu and not from a search result. The tissue, the skin envelope, the nipple position, and your goals all factor in.

What happens in the operating room

You receive anesthesia — medicine that makes you sleep. The surgeon makes incisions around the areola, often extending down the breast and sometimes along the fold. Extra skin is removed. The breast tissue is reshaped and supported internally. The nipple and areola are moved to a higher, natural position while still attached to their blood supply.

If an implant is part of your plan, it is placed during the same operation. The incisions are closed in layers with dissolving stitches. Surgery takes two to three hours. You wake in recovery under one-to-one observation, then go home the same day with your driver and written instructions.

Recovery, honestly

The first few days bring soreness and swelling, managed with a supportive bra. You walk the same day and sleep on your back. Most people with desk jobs return to work at about one week. No lifting over ten pounds during that stretch.

By two weeks, soreness fades and light lower-body exercise is usually fine. At six weeks, full exercise — including chest workouts — is typically cleared. Shape keeps settling. At one year, scars have faded from red to thin, pale lines. Every recovery is individual, and your surgical team's specific instructions always take priority over general timelines.

In any emergency — chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden leg swelling, or bleeding that does not slow with gentle pressure — call 911 first. For concerns that are not emergencies, call us at 405-751-0042, day or night.

The risks you should read before your consult

Every surgery has risks. Changes in nipple sensation — it may decrease, increase, or go away. Loss of part or all of the nipple is very rare. Breastfeeding may be affected for some women. Scars may stay raised, wide, or dark; lift scars are longer than implant-only scars.

The breasts settle over time. Some drop-back is normal and some is not predictable. The two breasts are never a perfect match. Slow wound healing can occur where scars meet, especially in smokers. Bleeding, infection, blood clots, and problems from anesthesia are possible. Another surgery to fix a problem or improve the result is sometimes needed. We review every risk with you in person.

"Near me" — the practice and the consultation

Oklahoma Surgical Arts is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. The community of Edmond is about seven miles away. We operate in an AAAHC-accredited surgery center with two operating rooms. Consultations are available virtual or in person.

Dr. Angelo Cuzalina founded the practice and directs its AACS-accredited fellowship. Dr. Carisa Champion, Dr. Chase Nelson, and Dr. Trent Fogleman — who practices here full-time — operate through the week. Every surgeon on the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster also serves Oklahoma City patients. Your consultation, records, and photography follow you between cities.

A consultation is the only honest way to answer the question behind the search. We examine the tissue, discuss your goals, and build a plan — lift, implant, or both — that fits your anatomy. Call 405-751-0042 or request a consultation online to start that conversation.

Individual results vary. This article is general education, not medical advice.

Questions

Asked in real consults.

Can a breast lift and implant really be done at the same time?
Yes. Mastopexy-augmentation combines both in one operation. The lift reshapes the breast and raises the nipple; the implant adds volume. Whether combining them is right for you depends on your tissue, skin quality, and goals — all assessed at the exam. Consult a qualified surgeon for your specific situation.
How long does a breast lift with implants take?
Surgery typically takes two to three hours. You go home the same day with a responsible adult who drives you and stays with you for the first twenty-four hours. Recovery timelines are individual, but most desk-job patients return to work at about one week.
Will I have more scars with a lift than with implants alone?
Yes. Lift scars are longer than implant-only scars. Incisions typically run around the areola, down the breast, and sometimes along the fold. Over a year, scars generally fade from red to thin, pale lines. Results vary from person to person.
How do I know if I need a lift, an implant, or both?
That is an exam question. Nipple position, skin quality, breast tissue volume, and your goals all factor in. No photograph or online quiz can replace a hands-on evaluation. A consultation with a qualified surgeon is the starting point.
