Medical weight loss, without the funnel.
GLP-1 weight management at Oklahoma Surgical Arts starts where good medicine starts: a provider evaluation and baseline labs. Prescriptions follow only where eligibility is real — and follow-up happens on schedule, not on demand.
The program runs under supervising physician Angelo Cuzalina, MD, DDS. And because this is a surgical practice, we’re honest about the whole arc: significant weight loss changes skin and shape, and when that day comes, body-contouring surgery is a conversation we’re unusually qualified to have.
Prescription programs begin with a provider evaluation, never a cart. Eligibility is medical, not commercial —
if a GLP-1 is wrong for you, you’ll hear it from us first.
The process
Evaluate → labs → prescribe where real → follow up.
1 · Evaluate
History + goalsWeight history, medical conditions, medications, and what you’ve already tried — screened against who GLP-1 medicines genuinely help.
2 · Baseline labs
Before any prescriptionMetabolic and safety panels first. Decisions from your data, not a sales script.
3 · Treat honestly
Side effects, statedNausea and digestive effects are common early and usually manageable; rarer risks are reviewed with you plainly. Dosing steps up gradually, with follow-up on schedule.
Questions
Asked at nearly every visit.
Am I a candidate for GLP-1 medication?
Candidacy is medical: weight, health conditions, medications, and history all matter, and some conditions rule these medicines out. The evaluation answers it honestly — including when the answer is no.
What about side effects?
Nausea, reflux, and digestive changes are common early and usually settle with gradual dosing; rarer but serious risks exist and are reviewed with you before any prescription. Follow-up is scheduled, not optional.
What happens to loose skin after major weight loss?
Significant loss often leaves loose skin no exercise can fix. When and if that matters to you, this practice’s post-weight-loss body contouring — tummy tuck, arm lift, breast lift — is the other half of the conversation.
What does it cost?
Program pricing — evaluation, labs, medication, and follow-up cadence — is explained plainly at your evaluation before you commit to anything. Current offers are listed on the wellness page.
