Breast Augmentation: Boob Job in OKC, Answered by the Surgeon
"Boob job OKC" is one of the most common searches that brings people to our site. Here is what we want you to know before you book a consultation.

What a boob job actually is
A boob job is breast augmentation. The surgery adds size and shape to the breasts with implants. An implant is a soft shell filled with salt water or silicone gel. It sits behind the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. You and your surgeon choose the size and placement together at your visit.
Breast augmentation is this practice's flagship procedure. It is performed by the surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts program, with two operating rooms here in Oklahoma City. You choose your city — OKC or Tulsa — and consults are available virtual or in person.
One detail people sometimes overlook: implants do not last a lifetime. Plan on more surgery someday. That is not a complication — it is the nature of the device. We discuss the timeline honestly at your consultation.
How the surgery works
You receive anesthesia — medicine that makes you sleep. The surgeon makes a short incision, most often in the fold under the breast. A pocket is created behind the breast tissue or behind the muscle. The implant is placed into that pocket and checked for position. The incision is closed in layers with dissolving stitches.
Surgery takes about an hour. You go home the same day. A responsible adult drives you home and stays with you for the first twenty-four hours — that is a firm rule after anesthesia. Our Oklahoma City facility is at 12400 Saint Andrew's Drive, with free on-site parking and a pull-up entrance for surgery-day drop-off.
Patients coming from nearby communities like Edmond — about seven miles from the practice — find the drive straightforward. The surgical team confirms your arrival time for your specific case, not a general clinic opening.
Recovery, honestly
The first few days bring chest tightness and soreness, like a hard workout. Walk the same day. Sleep on your back. By one week, most people with desk jobs return to work. No lifting beyond the limit your surgeon sets during that stretch.
By two weeks, soreness fades and light lower-body exercise is usually fine. At six weeks, full exercise — including chest workouts — is typically cleared. Implants soften and settle over months. The shape you see at six weeks is not the final shape.
In any emergency — chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden confusion, or a leg that swells or hurts more than the other — call 911 first. For concerns that are not emergencies, call us at 405-751-0042, day or night.
The risks, in plain words
Every surgery has risks. A firm scar shell can form around the implant — called capsular contracture — and change the shape or cause pain. An implant can leak or break over time. Nipple sensation can change. Breastfeeding may be affected for some women. A very rare cancer of the scar tissue around certain implants has been reported. Some patients report body-wide symptoms they link to implants. Removing implants is always an option.
Bleeding can sometimes require another trip to the operating room. Infection signs include spreading redness, warmth, pus, or fever. Every incision leaves a scar; most fade over a year, though some stay raised or wide. Uneven results are possible — the two sides of the body are never a perfect match. We review every one of these risks with you in person before surgery.
Sized to your frame, decided with you
The consultation is where the real decisions happen. We look at your chest width, tissue thickness, and goals. We discuss implant type, size, and placement — over the muscle or under it. There is no formula that works for everyone. There is a conversation that works for you.
Our patient gallery shows real breast augmentation results from the program's surgeons. Individual results vary, and your anatomy is yours alone. The gallery is a starting point for the conversation, not a menu.
