Breast Augmentation for Del City Patients: Drive, Consult, Aftercare

Del City is about 13 miles from our Oklahoma City practice — a straightforward drive. Here is what breast augmentation looks like from first consult through recovery.

The drive from Del City

Our practice is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Drive in Oklahoma City. Del City sits about 13 miles away in a straight line — drive time will depend on your route and the clock, but it is a single metro drive with no overnight travel required. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up.

Consultations are available in person at the Oklahoma City office or virtual from anywhere. Many patients prefer to meet the surgeon face to face the first time, then handle follow-up questions by phone or video. Either way, the conversation starts the same: you describe what bothers you, you are examined, and you leave with a written plan.

What breast augmentation actually is

Breast augmentation adds size and shape to the breasts with implants. An implant is a soft shell filled with salt water or silicone gel. It sits behind the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. You and your surgeon choose the size and placement together at your visit — sized to your frame, decided with you.

Surgery takes about an hour. You receive anesthesia, the surgeon makes a short incision most often in the fold under the breast, places the implant into a carefully created pocket, checks position, and closes in layers with dissolving stitches. You go home the same day. Implants do not last a lifetime. Plan on additional surgery someday.

Breast augmentation is this practice's flagship procedure. It is performed by the surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts program, with two operating rooms here in Oklahoma City. You choose your surgeon and your city — surgery happens in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

The consult and what you leave with

Every plan begins the same way. You meet the surgeon. You are examined. You describe what you want in your own words. You leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number — both yours to keep, to decide on your own time. There is no pressure in the room and none after you leave it.

Ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you. The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices here full-time. When surgery is scheduled, a single in-person pre-operative visit confirms the plan.

Recovery, honestly

The first few days bring chest tightness and soreness — patients describe it like a hard workout. Walk the same day. Sleep on your back. By one week, most people with desk jobs return to work. No lifting beyond the limit your surgeon sets during that stretch.

By two weeks, soreness fades and light lower-body exercise is usually fine. At six weeks, full exercise resumes, including chest workouts. Implants soften and settle over months. The practice is reachable at 405-751-0042 day or night if anything concerns you during recovery. For Del City patients, the drive back for a follow-up check is the same easy metro trip.

Risks you should know before your consult

Every surgery has risks. A firm scar shell can form around the implant — called capsular contracture — which can change shape and cause discomfort. An implant can leak or break over time. Nipple sensation can change. Breastfeeding may be affected for some women. Bleeding, infection, uneven results, and the possible need for revision surgery are all real possibilities. We review every risk with you in person.

A very rare cancer of the scar tissue around some implants has been reported. Some patients report body-wide symptoms they link to implants. Removing implants is always an option. In any emergency — chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden confusion, or a leg that swells — call 911 first. Otherwise call 405-751-0042 day or night.

Schedule your consultation

If you are considering breast augmentation and live in or near Del City, we invite you to schedule a consultation — in person or virtual. Call 405-751-0042 or book through the website. You will meet the surgeon, ask every question on your list, and leave with a clear plan. No decision is made in the room. Consult a qualified surgeon to understand whether this procedure is right for you.
