Mommy Makeover for Choctaw Patients: The Drive, the Consult, the Aftercare
Choctaw is about 20 miles from our Oklahoma City practice — a straightforward drive for a consultation, surgery day, and every follow-up visit after.

What a mommy makeover actually is
A mommy makeover combines breast and belly surgery in one operation. Most often that means a tummy tuck with a breast lift, augmentation, or reduction, and liposuction where it helps. One anesthesia, one recovery. The right combination is different for every body.
Your surgeon examines you, listens to what bothers you, and builds one plan — never a package off a shelf. Combining procedures shares anesthesia and facility time, which is why a mommy makeover is planned and priced as one operation with one written number.
Breast work comes first in most plans — lift, implants, or reduction as decided with you. The tummy tuck follows: muscles repaired, extra skin removed, belly button re-set. Liposuction sculpts the waist or flanks where the plan calls for it. Everything is closed in layers, and garments and dressings go on before you wake.
The drive from Choctaw and how the consult works
Choctaw sits about 20 miles from the practice, measured in a straight line — a drive, not a commute across the state. The practice is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up.
Every plan begins the same way. You meet the surgeon. You are examined. You describe what bothers you in your own words. You leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number — both yours to keep, to decide on your own time. Consultations are available in person at the Oklahoma City office or virtual from anywhere.
The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices here full-time. You choose your surgeon and your city — surgery happens in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.
Recovery, honestly — what the weeks look like
The first few days are the hardest. You walk bent, rest propped up, and let your helper help. Walk a little every few hours. By one week you are turning a corner — drains, if used, usually come out, and standing straightens day by day. Many desk workers return around two weeks. No lifting over ten pounds, and that includes toddlers.
Full exercise restarts around six weeks, including core and chest work. Swelling clears in stages over months; breasts settle and scars begin to fade. Because Choctaw is about 20 miles away, follow-up visits at the Oklahoma City office are a manageable drive during each stage of healing.
Combined surgery takes several hours. Some patients stay one night. The practice operates in an AAAHC-accredited surgery center with a private overnight guest suite, so the transition from operating room to recovery happens in one place.
Risks you should know before your consult
Every surgery has risks. Longer anesthesia time than a single procedure is one. Plans are limited to what is safe in one day. Blood clots are a concern with combined body surgery — early walking lowers the risk. Fluid buildup under the skin, called seroma, may need office drainage. Slow wound healing is more likely in smokers; combined plans demand a full nicotine stop.
Other risks include changes in nipple or belly-skin feeling that can take months to recover, bleeding that may require another trip to the operating room, infection, uneven results, and the possible need for another surgery to fix a problem or improve the result. When to call — and when to call 911
In any emergency, call 911 first. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department now — do not drive yourself, do not wait — for chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden confusion, weakness on one side of the body, one leg swelling or one calf hurting more than the other, or blood soaking a bandage that does not slow with gentle pressure.
Otherwise call 405-751-0042, day or night, if one breast or one side of your belly becomes much more swollen, tight, or painful than the other; if you have a fever of 101.5°F or higher; if redness spreads from any incision or you see pus; or if you feel short of breath at rest — and for that last one, call 911 first, always.
