Mommy Makeover for Moore Patients: The Drive, the Consult, the Plan

Moore is about 20 miles from our Oklahoma City practice — a drive, not a trip. Here is how we plan a mommy makeover from first conversation to full recovery.

By the surgical team of Oklahoma Surgical Arts ·

What a mommy makeover actually is

A mommy makeover combines breast and belly surgery in one operation. Most often that means a tummy tuck with a breast lift, augmentation, or reduction, with liposuction where it helps. One anesthesia, one recovery. The right combination is different for every body.

Your surgeon examines you, listens to what bothers you, and builds one plan. Never a package off a shelf. Combining procedures shares anesthesia and facility time, which is why a mommy makeover is planned — and priced — as one operation with one written number.

Breast work comes first in most plans — lift, implants, or reduction as decided with you. The tummy tuck follows: muscles repaired, extra skin removed, belly button re-set. Liposuction sculpts the waist or flanks where the plan calls for it. Everything is closed in layers. Combined surgery takes several hours. Some patients stay one night.

The drive from Moore to our Oklahoma City office

Moore sits about 20 miles from the practice, straight-line distance. That is a drive — not a day trip, not a flight. Our office is at 12400 Saint Andrew's Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up.

Consultations are available in person at the Oklahoma City office or virtual from anywhere. A virtual consultation lets you have a thorough initial conversation without making the drive. When surgery is scheduled, a single in-person pre-operative visit confirms the plan. You choose your surgeon and your city — surgery happens in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

The consultation: how the plan is built

Every plan begins the same way, whether you live in Moore or much farther out. You meet the surgeon. You are examined. You describe what bothers you in your own words. You leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number — both yours to keep, to decide on your own time. There is no pressure in the room and none after you leave it.

Ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you. The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices here full-time. Surgery is performed in our AAAHC-accredited surgery center, which includes a private overnight guest suite.

Recovery, honestly

The first few days are the hardest. You walk bent, rest propped up, and let your helper help. Walk a little every few hours. By one week, drains — if used — usually come out, and standing straightens day by day. Many desk workers return around two weeks. No lifting over ten pounds, and that includes toddlers.

Full exercise restarts around six weeks, including core and chest work. Swelling clears in stages over months. Breasts settle and scars begin to fade. The arc is predictable, but every body moves through it at its own pace.

Being about 20 miles away in Moore means follow-up visits are straightforward. You will see the team several times in the weeks after surgery, and the office line — 405-751-0042 — is available day or night.

Risks: the honest list

Every surgery has risks. Longer anesthesia time than a single procedure. Blood clots — combined body surgery raises the risk, and early walking lowers it. Fluid buildup under the skin that may need office drainage. Slow wound healing, especially in smokers — combined plans demand a full nicotine stop. Changes in nipple or belly-skin feeling that can take months to recover. Bleeding that can sometimes need another trip to the operating room. Infection. Uneven results. The need for another surgery to fix a problem or improve the result.

In any emergency — chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden confusion, one leg swelling more than the other, or bleeding that does not slow with gentle pressure — call 911 first. For other concerns after surgery, call 405-751-0042 day or night.
