Traveling to Oklahoma City for Surgery: A Plan for Los Angeles Patients

Los Angeles is about 1,184 miles from our Oklahoma City practice — a flight or a long drive. Patients make the trip for a specific surgeon, a specific procedure, or the standards of the facility. Here is how to plan it.

Why patients travel from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City

Cosmetic surgery is elective. That means you choose the surgeon, the facility, and the city. Some patients find the right match close to home. Others look further. The decision usually comes down to a specific surgeon's experience with a specific procedure, or the standards of the facility where the surgery will be performed.

Oklahoma Surgical Arts operates out of an AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Oklahoma City with two operating rooms. Dr. Angelo Cuzalina founded the practice and directs its AACS-accredited fellowship. His published case volume exceeds 18,000 procedures, with particular focus on rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City patients, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices here full-time.

Patients travel to Oklahoma City from across the country. The practice serves the full menu of cosmetic surgery — breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, breast lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, mommy makeover, gynecomastia surgery, and facial surgery. You choose your surgeon and your city. Surgery happens in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

The consultation starts the plan

Every plan here begins the same way, whether you live seven miles away or over a thousand. You meet the surgeon. You are examined. You describe what bothers you in your own words. You leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number — both yours to keep, to decide on your own time. There is no pressure in the room and none after you leave it.

Consultations are available in person at the Oklahoma City office or virtual from anywhere. Virtual consultations let Los Angeles patients have a thorough initial conversation without booking a flight. When surgery is scheduled, a single in-person pre-operative visit confirms the plan. Ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you.

Getting here and knowing what to bring

The practice is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up. The team confirms your arrival time for your specific case — not a general clinic opening.

Bring photo ID, your completed paperwork, a written list of every medication and supplement you take, glasses and a case — no contact lenses. Wear loose, front-opening clothing and slip-on shoes. No makeup, lotion, deodorant, or fragrance on surgery day. Leave jewelry, piercings, and valuables at home.

After anesthesia you may not drive yourself, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult drives you and stays with you for the first 24 hours. If you are traveling from Los Angeles, plan for that companion and for a comfortable place to recover nearby before the trip home.

How surgery day flows

You arrive at the time confirmed by the surgical team. Check-in, pre-operative preparation, and a final review with your surgeon and anesthesia provider happen in sequence. You wake in recovery under one-to-one observation, then discharge home with your driver and your written instructions.

Surgery in Tulsa instead of Oklahoma City is always an option. The Tulsa flagship has a private overnight guest suite. Your consult, records, and photography follow you between cities. When any instruction from your surgical team differs from general guidance, their instructions win.

Planning the return to Los Angeles

Your surgeon will tell you when it is safe to fly or drive home. Follow-up appointments may be scheduled in person or managed virtually depending on the procedure. The practice phone — 405-751-0042 — is available for questions at any point in your recovery.

The patient forms — registration in English and Spanish, the HIPAA privacy notice, the financial policy, and procedure-specific documents — are published as printable PDFs. Complete them before you arrive so your surgery-day morning is unhurried. If you have questions about logistics before your trip, call the team directly.
