Traveling to OKC for Cosmetic Surgery: A Guide for Sacramento Patients

Sacramento is about 1,328 miles from our Oklahoma City practice. Patients make that trip for a specific surgeon, a specific procedure, or both. Here is how to plan it.

Why patients travel from Sacramento to Oklahoma City

Cosmetic surgery is elective. You choose the surgeon, the facility, and the city. Some patients find the right match close to home. Others look further — across state lines, across the country. The decision usually comes down to a specific surgeon's experience, a specific procedure, or the standards of the facility where the surgery will be performed.

Oklahoma Surgical Arts operates out of an AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Oklahoma City with two operating rooms. Dr. Angelo Cuzalina founded the practice and directs its AACS-accredited fellowship. His published case volume exceeds 18,000 procedures, with particular focus on rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City patients, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices here full-time.

Sacramento patients have access to the full menu: breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, breast lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, mommy makeover, gynecomastia surgery, and facial surgery. You choose your surgeon and your city — surgery happens in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

Starting the conversation from Sacramento

Every plan here begins the same way, whether you live seven miles away or seven hundred. You meet the surgeon. You are examined. You describe what bothers you in your own words. You leave with a written plan and a written, all-in number — both yours to keep, to decide on your own time. There is no pressure in the room and none after you leave it.

Virtual consultations let Sacramento patients have a thorough initial conversation without booking a flight. When surgery is scheduled, a single in-person pre-operative visit confirms the plan. Ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you.

Getting here and what to bring

The practice is located at 12400 Saint Andrew's Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Parking is free and on-site. On surgery day, your driver pulls directly to the entrance for drop-off and pick-up. The team confirms your arrival time for your specific case — not a general clinic opening.

Bring photo ID, your completed paperwork, a written list of every medication and supplement you take, glasses and a case (no contact lenses), phone and charger. Wear loose, front-opening clothing and slip-on shoes. No makeup, lotion, deodorant, or fragrance on surgery day. Leave jewelry, piercings, and valuables at home.

Patient forms — registration in English and Spanish, the HIPAA privacy notice, the financial policy, and other documents — are published as PDFs so you can print, fill out, and bring them with you.

Your driver, your first 24 hours, and recovery planning

After anesthesia you may not drive yourself home, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult drives you and stays with you for the first 24 hours. Your driver checks in with you, stays reachable by phone for the entire day, and receives your discharge instructions in person.

Sacramento patients traveling for surgery should plan their stay around the procedure and the follow-up schedule your surgeon outlines. If surgery is performed in Tulsa instead of Oklahoma City, the Tulsa flagship has a private overnight guest suite. Your consult, records, and photography follow you between cities.

When any written instruction differs from what your surgical team tells you directly, their instructions win. The practice phone is 405-751-0042 for questions before, during, or after your trip.

The practice behind the plan

Dr. Angelo Cuzalina served as president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (2011–2012) and president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (2013). He holds the SRC Master Surgeon designation in Specialized Cosmetic Surgery — Face & Neck and Trunk, Breast & Extremities. He was named Physician Surgical Innovator of the Year at THE Aesthetic Show in 2018.

Dr. Carisa Champion and Dr. Chase Nelson operate in Oklahoma City through the week. The full Tulsa roster serves Oklahoma City as well. The practice maintains the same consent standards, the same photography discipline, and the same surgeons across both locations. Our patient gallery shows real patients of the program, each with their surgeon named.

Questions

Asked in real consults.

Can I have my consultation virtually from Sacramento?

Do I need someone to travel with me?
Yes. After anesthesia you may not drive, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult must drive you from the facility and stay with you for the first 24 hours. Plan for this before you book your trip.
Can I choose which surgeon performs my procedure?
You can. Ask for a specific surgeon when you book, or share your goals and the team will match you. The six cosmetic surgeons of the Tulsa Surgical Arts roster all serve Oklahoma City patients, and Dr. Trent Fogleman practices in Oklahoma City full-time.
Is the surgery center accredited?
The Oklahoma City surgery center is AAAHC-accredited and has two operating rooms. The practice also directs an AACS-accredited cosmetic surgery fellowship. Accreditation means the facility meets published safety and quality standards reviewed by an independent organization.
